Formed in 2017 by bass maverick Omer Avital, Zamzama records aims to capture NYC’s current innovative sounds.

 

With decades of international performance and recording experience, Omer has decided to form Zamzama records for a constant flow of creation and expression to be released seamlessly. As well as releasing remastered past recordings and new records.

 

Featured on the label is Omer’s new release “QANTAR” - OMER AVITAL’s dream quintet. Since forming in 2016, the improvisations they created around Avital’s compositions jelled in an immediate and uncanny way, as if the musicians were traveling along the same tightrope, aloft and daring, with an incredible solidarity held together by a bond that went far beyond performing the notes and letting go in the solos.

 

 

Also, a new release coming out this fall - “PaPa WaWa” features Saxophone virtuoso Asaf Yuria with his NYC dream team: Josh Evans on Trumpet, Eden Ladin on Piano, Ben Meigners on Bass and Jason Brown on Drums.
